Safety clothing is one of the most vital aspects of any employee’s job and any employer’s workplace. The one time that safety clothing is not worn is bound to be the time that an accident will occur, so why risk it? Make sure you have all the equipment and safety gear you need to keep yourself and your fellow workmates protected at all times. It’s not just a matter of choice – it’s the law.
Long gone are the days when workers would take risks with dangerous machinery, or when they would handle hazardous substances or objects without adequate protection. Thankfully the industrial revolution has long since passed, and nowadays employees can expect to be looked after whilst they are on the job – no matter what their line of work. After all, if employers don’t ensure the safety of their employees they won’t have a workforce for long. It’s important that you are aware of your rights as an employee (or your duties as an employer), and that everyone within the workplace looks out for each other, having been properly educated in the health and safety regulations relevant to the line of work.
It doesn’t matter what your job is or how often you do it, you should be aware of whether or not you need to have safety clothing and if so, who is going to provide it to you (you, your employer, or the government). Don’t wait to be caught out by an inspection or an accident, protect yourself! |
