Safety Clothing

Although safety clothing is one of the most important things you can have to keep yourself protected, there are many other devices which will also be helpful in all sorts of circumstances.  Ranging from indicators to shields, devices to guides, you’d be surprised at just how many different types of safety gadgets there are on the market.

One of the most important sorts of safety devices is an indicator – of temperature, water or air pressure, air content (levels of breathable air in enclosed spaces, for instance), acidity, alkalinity, and so forth.  Kept close at hand while you’re working, these devices could save you from serious harm – alerting you before an accident or emergency occurs.

Another important form of safety equipment is the shield.  A shield can take many forms, although the most common include radiation shields (used in x-ray rooms and hospitals), heat shields (used in heavy industry to protect workers from excess heat), and contamination shields (used when toxic chemicals or contaminated objects are handled, these shields may include plastic gloves inserted through holes in the shield to allow workers to handle the dangerous goods).
